Ayo Dosunmu is reportedly planning to stay with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a five-year, $112 million contract that includes a player option in the final season. The terms have been reported by ESPN through sources, so the deal should still be treated as pending official confirmation.
Minnesota’s push to retain Dosunmu comes after a busy night in which the team also reportedly moved Julius Randle to the Brooklyn Nets. Dosunmu had arrived from the Chicago Bulls in February in a trade that cost the Timberwolves four second-round picks and Rob Dillingham, then quickly became a meaningful part of the rotation alongside Anthony Edwards.
His postseason offered both upside and caution. Dosunmu averaged 15.6 points in 29.2 minutes over a 10-game playoff run and produced a 43-point bench performance against Denver, but right calf tightness interrupted his availability and limited his later impact against San Antonio.
For Minnesota, the reported commitment suggests confidence that Dosunmu’s playoff flashes can translate into a stable long-term role. Editors should watch for team confirmation, finalized contract language, and any further reporting on how this move fits with the Timberwolves’ roster reshaping.
