England have called Chandler Cunningham-South into the squad for Saturday’s Nations Championship meeting with Fiji after Cadan Murley was ruled out with a shoulder injury. The move brings in a versatile Harlequins forward rather than a direct wing replacement.
The reshuffle follows England’s heavy opening defeat by South Africa in Johannesburg, where Murley was injured. Northampton Saints prop Emmanuel Iyogun has also been added after Beno Obano’s injury, while Tom Roebuck had already joined the group following George Furbank’s withdrawal with appendicitis.
That leaves England with limited specialist wing cover: Roebuck, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Noah Caluori are the listed options in that role. Tommy Freeman, who was used at outside centre in the last match, may be part of the selection debate because of his regular club experience on the wing.
Cunningham-South, 23, was not in the original squad because of injury, but he has already featured for England this year and offers Steve Borthwick cover at lock and in the back row. After facing Fiji in Liverpool, England are scheduled to travel to Argentina for their final Nations Championship fixture of the summer.
