Jordan Walsh has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $15 million extension with the Boston Celtics that would run through the 2029-30 season. The deal, reported by ESPN, comes after Boston also exercised his $2.4 million option for 2026-27.
The move points to the Celtics valuing Walsh as more than a developmental piece. He played in 68 games last season, started 25 times, and posted career-best averages of 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds.
The most important basketball signal may be his outside shooting. After struggling from three-point range over his first two seasons, Walsh lifted that mark to 38% last season, giving Boston a clearer reason to trust him in rotation minutes.
Walsh, a 2023 second-round pick, could remain a notable part of the Celtics’ reshaped roster after the reported offseason trade that sent Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia for Paul George. Because the contract terms are attributed to sources rather than a team announcement, editors should treat the agreement as pending official confirmation.
