Konrad Laimer has agreed a new three-year contract with Bayern Munich. The 29-year-old Austria international remains part of the club’s plans after establishing himself as a versatile option since his 2023 move from RB Leipzig.
Laimer has made 136 appearances for Bayern and has been involved in squads that won two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup. Although listed as a defender, his recent output also stood out going forward, with three goals and 13 assists across all competitions in the season referenced by the source.
His role for Austria has also added to his profile, with four World Cup appearances as the national team reached the knockout stage. In comments attributed to Bayern’s website, Laimer underlined his happiness in Munich and said his ability to play in several positions remains part of what he wants to offer the team.
Bayern are scheduled to open their 2026-27 Bundesliga campaign at home to VfB Stuttgart on Aug. 28. For editors and fans, the renewal raises a wider squad-building question: is Laimer now best viewed as defensive depth, a utility starter, or a key tactical piece for the coming season?
