Madison Keys won the Eastbourne women's singles title by beating Tatjana Maria 7-5 6-4 in the final. It is her third triumph at the tournament, adding to her 2014 and 2023 victories.
The result places Keys alongside Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova among the women to have won Eastbourne at least three times. She completed the week without dropping a set, and the victory also brought her 11th tour title and a fifth consecutive win in tour finals.
Keys built the final around first-strike tennis, using her serve and forward movement to unsettle Maria. The German, ranked 112th and a former Queen's champion, resisted with variety and defensive skill, but Keys found the decisive break in the second set and closed the match at the first championship-point opportunity.
Both finalists now turn immediately to Wimbledon. Keys is due to open against fellow American Kayla Day, while Maria is scheduled to face Yulia Putintseva in the first round.
