Sweden got one back in the 59th minute, when A. Elanga scored from an Alexander Isak assist to make it 4-1. Sweden then saw Y. Ayari and Lucas Bergvall booked in succession. In the 89th minute, Crysencio Summerville scored from a M. Depay assist to close the match at 5-1.
On the numbers, the Netherlands had 51% possession to Sweden's 49%; expected goals were 2.47 to 0.98 in favor of the Dutch; shots were 10-16, and shots on target 7-8; pass completion was 88% to 85%; corners 2-5; both sides were caught offside 3 times; saves were 7 for the Netherlands and 2 for Sweden; fouls were 9-12.
In the previous round, the Netherlands drew 2-2 with Japan, while Sweden beat Tunisia 5-1.
In the next round, the Netherlands will face Tunisia in the third group match on 2026-06-25, and Sweden will meet Japan on the same day.
