Ange Postecoglou is the new head coach of Al Nassr after agreeing a two-year contract with the Saudi Pro League champions. The move puts him in charge of a high-profile squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo, with Sadio Mané, Kingsley Coman and João Félix also listed among the club’s standout names.
The appointment marks Postecoglou’s return to management after his brief spell at Nottingham Forest last season. Before that, his reputation was shaped by successful work at Celtic, where he won five major trophies across two seasons, as well as earlier roles with Tottenham and Australia.
Al Nassr enter this new phase after winning the Saudi title last season, their first in seven years, under Stefano Pioli. Pioli has since been dismissed, leaving Postecoglou to take over a club with major expectations and an already star-heavy dressing room.
One early storyline will be how quickly Postecoglou can impose his style while key figures manage international commitments, including Ronaldo’s World Cup involvement with Portugal. For editors and fans, the bigger question is whether his aggressive, front-foot approach can translate smoothly into Al Nassr’s title defence.
