S. Walsh scores twice as Galway United beat Derry City 2-1

Galway United took the lead in the first half. S. Walsh opened the scoring for the home side in the 24th minute, and D. Hurley was booked a minute later. For Derry City, C. Dummigan received a yellow card in the 38th minute. Galway United went into the break ahead 1-0.

Shortly after the restart, Galway United extended their advantage. In the 48th minute, S. Walsh finished off a D. Hurley assist to complete his brace and make it 2-0.

Derry City pulled one back in the closing stages. M. Duffy scored from the penalty spot in the 88th minute to reduce the deficit to 2-1. G. Facchineri was shown a yellow card in stoppage time, in the 90+4th minute. Galway United ultimately held on to win 2-1.
