Spain opens as early 2030 World Cup market favorite

Spain is the early betting-market favorite to win the 2030 FIFA World Cup, according to the ESPN report citing sportsbook prices. DraftKings listed the reigning champion and 2030 co-host at +450, ahead of France, England and Portugal in the initial market snapshot.

The positioning follows Spain's 2026 World Cup win, after La Roja had also entered that tournament as the pre-event favorite. ESPN cites SportsOddsHistory data noting that Spain became only the fourth pre-tournament favorite to go on and lift the trophy, alongside 1974 West Germany, 1994 Brazil and Spain's own 2010 side.

DraftKings' board placed France at +600, with England and Portugal at +900. Argentina, the 2026 runner-up, was listed at 11-1, while Morocco appeared at 35-1 and both the United States and Mexico at 80-1. These numbers reflect sportsbook markets at the time of reporting, not a forecast of what will happen in 2030.

The ESPN piece also underlined how large the 2026 World Cup became for U.S. soccer betting activity. The Spain-Argentina final was reported as the most-bet soccer match ever for both BetMGM and Caesars, with Caesars describing tournament engagement as stronger than expected.
