Jakks Pacific is preparing to release the Nintendo Super Mario Yum Yum Yoshi Interactive Toy in summer 2026, and its main talking point is a tongue mechanism that extends when the figure is leaned forward. The toy is already listed for pre-order at Smyths Toys.
The figure turns one of Yoshi’s familiar Super Mario abilities into a physical play feature: users press the head down or lean the character forward so the tongue reaches out toward the included fruit accessory. The package is described as including one Yoshi figure and one fruit piece, with the figure standing around 24cm tall.
Smyths Toys lists the product at £29.99 in the UK, roughly $40 USD. Famitsu has reported that Target, Walmart, and other retailers are expected to carry it later in summer 2026, though that wider availability should still be treated as pending confirmation from retailer listings or Jakks Pacific.
The toy’s viral momentum appears to come less from the product itself and more from close-up demo clips of the tongue stretching across a surface. For Nintendo collectors and Mario fans, it raises the familiar question of where the line sits between playful character accuracy and unintentionally odd merchandise design.
