England built its lead quickly in the middle of the first half. In the 36th minute, Jude Bellingham finished a Bukayo Saka assist, and just two minutes later he scored again, this time assisted by Harry Kane, to complete his brace and put England 2-0 ahead.
Mexico cut the gap in the 42nd minute when Julián Quiñones scored to make it 2-1 at the break. In the second half, J. Quansah was shown a red card in the 54th minute, and Harry Kane converted a penalty in the 60th minute to extend England’s lead to 3-1.
Raúl Jiménez then scored from the spot in the 69th minute to bring Mexico back to 3-2. The score did not change again after that. In stoppage time, J. Vasquez and J. Henderson were booked in the 90+8th minute, and the match ended with England winning 3-2.
On the stat sheet, Mexico had 67% possession to England’s 33%. Expected goals were 1.87 for Mexico and 1.55 for England. Mexico also led in shots 20-6, while both sides had five shots on target.
