Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Tyrique George in a deal that could rise to £30m. The transfer is not yet complete, with personal terms and a medical still required before it can be finalised.
The reported structure lowers the guaranteed fee to £24m, with a further £6m linked to appearances and European qualification. Chelsea are also said to have secured a 15% sell-on clause, giving them a future interest if George moves again.
George already has recent experience at Everton after spending the second half of last season on loan there. He made 11 appearances, including one start, and David Moyes was understood to be pleased with his attitude and work-rate during that spell.
The 20-year-old England Under-21 international came through Chelsea’s academy but had been available for a move for some time. If completed, his arrival would add to Everton’s summer reshaping after Hayden Hackney’s reported move from Middlesbrough, Merlin Rohl’s permanent switch, and the departures of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Seamus Coleman at the end of their contracts.
