Manchester City have confirmed they have an agreement in place to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The move is not formally complete yet, with final paperwork due after Anderson returns from England duty at the World Cup.
Anderson has already completed his medical in Kansas while with the England squad. ESPN reports, citing sources, that the deal is valued at £116 million with no add-ons, though that figure has not been presented as part of the club confirmation.
If the reported valuation is confirmed, Anderson would move ahead of Declan Rice's £105 million switch from West Ham to Arsenal as the most expensive British player. That would add another layer of scrutiny to a transfer already significant because of City's midfield planning.
The 23-year-old leaves Nottingham Forest after 92 appearances following his arrival from Newcastle in 2024. ESPN also reports that City may still look at another midfield addition, with Ayyoub Bouaddi named as a player being monitored, but that remains a sourced report rather than an official club position.
