Christian Pulisic says he is ready to play a full role for the United States in Wednesday’s World Cup round-of-32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. His left calf issue, which disrupted his group-stage involvement, is no longer presented as a major limitation by the player.
Pulisic missed the United States’ second group match against Australia and played only 32 minutes against Türkiye because of the calf problem. His availability matters not only for the starting lineup, but also for a knockout game that could require extra time or penalties.
Elsewhere in the squad, Auston Trusty returned to training after an ankle issue, while Cristian Roldan was restricted to modified work and remains day-to-day. Mark McKenzie did not train because of foot irritation, leaving some defensive and midfield depth questions unresolved before kickoff.
Pulisic also addressed the mental side of a potential shootout, noting the pressure involved while expressing belief that the USMNT has players prepared to take responsibility. With 13 members of the current squad having been part of the 2022 World Cup group, the team can lean on shared tournament experience as the knockout stage begins.
