Quinten Post has signed a three-year, $30 million offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN’s report citing league sources. Because he is a restricted free agent, the Golden State Warriors can still keep him by matching before the stated Tuesday 11:59 p.m. ET deadline.
The decision is not just about one young center. Post was a second-round pick in 2024 who quickly gave Golden State a stretch option in the frontcourt, making 73 threes as a rookie at close to 41%. His outside accuracy later fell to 33.6%, but his willingness to shoot at volume in limited minutes kept his skill set valuable.
Memphis’ interest appears tied to both spacing and defensive growth, with the ESPN report noting that Post’s analytical defensive profile improved. For the Warriors, however, the offer sheet arrives while they are managing a crowded frontcourt, salary constraints and broader roster priorities.
Offer sheets of this size have become rare in recent NBA free agency, which makes Golden State’s response a notable test case. Matching would preserve a young floor-spacing big; declining would allow Memphis to add him and make Post one of the few recent restricted free agents to change teams through this mechanism.
