Ealing Trailfinders will contest their first Premiership Women’s Rugby final against three-time champions Saracens at The Stoop on Sunday, 28 June, with kick-off set for 15:00 BST. The match pits a fast-rising West London side against a Saracens team chasing a record fourth title.
Trailfinders’ run is a sharp step forward for a club that only entered the PWR in 2023 and had not previously finished above sixth. After taking fourth place in the regular season, they upset Gloucester-Hartpury 29-26 at Kingsholm to reach the final.
Saracens arrive with the stronger title pedigree and recent head-to-head advantage, having won both league meetings with Trailfinders this season, including a 57-5 result away in November. Their own semi-final was far tighter, a 40-38 win over Exeter that underlined both their attacking threat and the pressure they had to absorb.
The final also carries a personal storyline for Marlie Packer, who is set to make her last Saracens appearance before joining Harlequins for the 2026-27 season. For Trailfinders, England captain Meg Jones is part of a rebuilt group that has developed over the campaign and now has a chance to change the club’s standing in the league.
Beyond the trophy, the fixture offers another marker for the growth of Premiership Women’s Rugby and a developing London rivalry. With Trailfinders trying to establish themselves among the elite and Saracens looking to reinforce their dominance, the final could shape how the capital’s PWR hierarchy is viewed next season.
