Arthur Fery is through to the Wimbledon quarter-finals after defeating Grigor Dimitrov on Centre Court. His next match is set to be against French Open runner-up Flavio Cobolli in the last eight.
BBC Tennis’ Wimbledon Daily episode focused on reaction to Fery’s breakthrough, including an interview with the British player and analysis from Katie Smith, Russell Fuller, Naomi Broady and Greg Rusedski. The programme highlighted how at ease Fery appeared on Centre Court and discussed his movement as a key part of the performance.
The episode also noted that Alex Zverev’s route to the next round was interrupted by Wimbledon’s 11pm curfew, adding another scheduling wrinkle as the tournament enters its decisive phase.
With the women’s quarter-finals also now set, the wider Wimbledon picture is sharpening. For Fery, the immediate question is whether this Centre Court win becomes a one-off high point or the start of a deeper run against Cobolli.
