Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool are through to the Wimbledon men's doubles quarter-finals after defeating Petr Nouza and Neil Oberleitner 6-3 3-6 7-5. The British third seeds remain in contention to defend the title they won at the All England Club in 2025.
Their run carries added significance after last year's victory made them the first all-British men's doubles champions at Wimbledon in 89 years. Glasspool indicated that the pair are trying to draw confidence from that success rather than treat it as a burden, focusing on each match as it comes.
The next test is a seeded quarter-final against Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, who are the sixth seeds. Pavic is also active in mixed doubles, where he and Fanny Stollar eliminated Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk in two tie-break sets.
It was a difficult day elsewhere for British doubles hopes. Skupski and Christian Harrison lost their men's doubles match to Thanasi Kokkinakis and Aleksandar Kovacevic, while Glasspool and Leylah Fernandez were also beaten in mixed doubles by Harrison and Zhang Shuai.
