Duran stands out as Celtic let two-goal lead slip against AC Milan

Celtic drew 2-2 with AC Milan in their final pre-season match, with Camilo Duran directly involved in both home goals. Francesco Camarda replied twice after half-time to turn a Celtic advantage into a draw at Celtic Park.

Duran gave Celtic the lead after capitalising on a poor Milan back pass, then helped create the second by reaching the ball ahead of goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani and setting up James Forrest. The performance continued a productive pre-season spell for Duran, with Sky Sports reporting it was his third goal in three games.

Milan’s response came quickly after the break. Camarda converted a penalty after Cameron Carter-Vickers was judged to have fouled him, then headed in from Samuel Chukwueze’s delivery six minutes later to level the match.

For Celtic, the useful signs were Duran’s sharpness and a bright late contribution from substitute Thomas Hatton. The caution is that the match also showed how quickly control can disappear after half-time changes, a point manager Martin O’Neil acknowledged in his post-match assessment. Celtic now move toward their Scottish Premiership opener at home to Dundee on 3 August.
