Samuel Bensoussan match-fixing ban extended to three years

Samuel Bensoussan's match-fixing suspension has been increased to three years after his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport was rejected. The French player, whose ban began in May 2025, is now ineligible until May 2028.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency case followed findings that Bensoussan fixed four matches. He had initially received a one-year-and-11-month suspension, along with a $12,000 fine, before CAS upheld the charges and agreed the sanction should be brought into line with comparable cases.

The case sits within a wider integrity investigation connected to a Belgium-based criminal syndicate. CAS noted that the probe identified large-scale corruption across tennis, involving at least 181 players and the manipulation of at least 375 matches.

Bensoussan, who reached a career-high ranking of 405 in 2018 and has not played professionally since 2019, is barred during the suspension from playing, coaching at, or attending events sanctioned by major tennis bodies and Grand Slam tournaments.
