Tottenham have agreed a £100m deal to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, in what would become the club’s record transfer. The move is not yet complete, with medical checks and final formalities still pending.
The reported package is made up of £92.5m plus £7.5m in achievable add-ons. Tonali is expected to travel to London from Milan, while his proposed Spurs contract is reported to be worth more than £275,000 per week.
For Tottenham, the deal would underline a major shift in squad-building under Roberto De Zerbi. Spurs have also agreed an £85m move for Mateus Fernandes, added Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m, and brought in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka on free transfers, taking reported summer spending beyond £200m if the agreed deals are completed.
Newcastle would make a significant return on Tonali, having signed him from AC Milan for £55m in 2023. Sky Sports reports the club views the fee as strong enough to help fund several additions, with Bazoumana Toure among the players linked to their next phase of recruitment.
